Bill & Melinda Gates' Foundation Global Health Division
The Bill & Melinda Gates' Foundation Global Health Division aims to make advancements in research and technology in order to ameliorate the leading causes of child mortality in developing countries. Infectious diseases are specially targeted to allow children across the globe to have a greater chance at a prosperous life. In addition to making these new discoveries, they also work to send and distribute tools for effective preventive care, diagnostics, and treatment.
The Gates' Foundation receives much of its funding from its Philanthropy Partners, which is where your donation will be going. Get to know more of what the foundation does here under the Global Health tab.
Cardiovascular Research Foundation
The Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) works to fund innovative research and treatments for the #1 leading cause of death worldwide– heart disease. They are dedicated to discovering new ways to increase survival and comfort of those living with heart disease, as well as training physicians to implement these groundbreaking techniques.
CRF helped develop drug-eluting stents, for example, which are now used for 75% of all stent placements. They function to open up blocked arteries, and contain drugs that are gradually released in order to prevent the stent from forming scar tissue and clogging blood flow through the artery again.
